Recording studios are great places to make music - no question. Most of them create good - sometimes excellent - results. At Rockhopper, we go that extra mile because we know that, not only is it your money - it's your time. And we don't want to waste either.
How do we do this?
A great recording is made up of three things
Get all three right and you'll really have something. So we've provided the best recording gear and the best instruments we can find. Check the links above to find out more.
Now the performance part is up to you. Here's some tips:
- Choose your strongest material - stuff that really showcases you and your abilities.
- Rehearse, rehearse, rehearse! Know the material so well, you can overcome any nerves on the day. It's far better to have all the parts worked out in advance than to be wasting time and money learning them in the studio.
- If you're using your own gear, make sure it's prepared, tuned up and at it's best.
- Bring replacement strings, drumsticks, batteries or anything that's likely to break, wear out or run down.
- Relax! You're here to make music. It's your show. If things go wrong, you make a mistake or whatever - don't worry. We can do it as many times as you like. You'll know when you've nailed it.
- Yes - sometimes things can be "fixed in the mix." Better to get it sounding right in the first place though
- We will certainly be happy to give our opinion, if asked. But it's your time, your money, your show.
