The studio kit is at the heart of the Rockhopper. Located in it’s own acoustic booth, uniquely contoured to give an incredibly full, drum sound which can be both powerful or subtle, as required.
The standard configuration has each drum close mic’d with the excellent Audix drum mics. The overhead mics are Neumann U87’s. However, there is plenty of microphone choice, providing an infinite variety of drum sounds. The Audix SCX-25, for example is another great choice for drum overheads.
By all means, bring along your sticks, kick drum pedal, snare, cymbals, or your whole kit if you prefer! Whatever works for you.

We usually take this little beauty on tour with us - festivals, gigs, etc. - because of its compact size. Having said that, drummers seem to love it. Everyone, from keen enthusiasts to seasoned pros, find it to be very versatile, easy to play and capable of delivering some knock out drum sounds. Couple it , via MIDI, to the BFD2 Drum Program , and you have a huge library of, just about any drum sound you're likely to need.
